DATA MAILBOX SERVICE

Data mailboxes are a relatively new tool for the communication with state administration bodies. They have been introduced by operation of law to all corporate bodies and state authorities. Moreover, this duty shall apply to all tradesmen very soon. All communication with authorities shall proceed electronically only, which means that respective authorities will not send registered letters any more but in most cases information will be delivered to the data mailbox.

An important aspect is the so-called delivery fiction. Messages sent to the data mailbox are considered delivered after 10 days (similarly if a recipient collects a registered letter at the post office). Therefore, it is necessary to continuously monitor the data mailbox, which is often neglected.
